Does anyone know of an herbal supplement/remedy to help prevent/reduce body acne?

I have tried just about everything from over-the-counter things, to prescribed treatments and medication. Nothing seems to work, and while my face is very clear and I rarely have a blemish, it is still a problem on my shoulders, chest, and both my lower/upper back. It is not extreme, but enough to make me self-conscious. Does anyone know of anything organic/herbal that works?Does anyone know of an herbal supplement/remedy to help prevent/reduce body acne?
Back acne is also caused due to hormonal changes as well as any strenuous physical activity. The first problem can be solved to an extent by avoiding fast food, having a balanced diet, drinking lots of water and exercising. These help to get rid of toxins and extra hormones thereby balancing the whole body process. Moreover, exercising increases blood circulation and the skin absorbs more oxygen giving it a healthy glow.

The second problem, that is strenuous exercise, is often unavoidable especially for athletes, hence one could follow a few guidelines that could contain the problem. Exercise or a round at the gym causes one to sweat profusely, this sweat can cause the acne, and to avoid this it is best that the person uses non-clinging, light clothing. Again materials like lycra and wool should be avoided as they trap the sweat and also irritates the skin aggravating the problem.

After the exercise it is a must for an individual to have a bath to remove the sweat. Using soap and a scrub to wash off that dirt and grime would be very helpful. You could also treat the acne on your back by using a cleanser containing salicyclic acid and apply medicines containing benzoyl peroxide.

Other things that would do you good are:

1. Before getting dressed make sure your back is completely dry

2. Apply sunscreen before exposing your back

3. Try using clay masks to remove dirt from deep inside

4. Inflammatory acne can be treated by antibiotics, topical retinoids and also by injecting cortisone

5. Try to avoid hot and clammy surroundings and also stay away from cooking as well, as the grease from the cooking can aggravate blackheads and clogged pores leading to further acne.

Following these tips regularly should effectively counter your back acne problem however if it still persists, visiting your dermatologist is the best option

thanks bye tc ...Does anyone know of an herbal supplement/remedy to help prevent/reduce body acne?
1. Green tea. It is believed that green tea is full of anti-oxidant properties which are useful in lessening the function of hormonal actions and can result to the reduction of acne activity.

2. Tea tree oil. This is a type of topical treatment that you can use naturally, minus the chemicals. You can apply tea tree oil openly on the affected area.

3. Licorice. This herb is considered very significant for the remedy of acne. It is useful in invigorating the adrenal glands in order to intensify the body鈥檚 capability to combat the acne-causing bacteria.
Here are few tips and remedies which can help.

Do NOT squeeze or pop a pimple. Squeezing can push bacteria and pus deeper into the skin, leaving permanent scars. Wash your face with warm salt water. This will get rid of the oil and dirt without irritating the acne. Apply cucumber paste on your face. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water.

Aloe vera gel is an effective natural cure for acne. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. If you get a bad case of acne, see a dermatologist.

Herbal Remedies like Neem and Skinelle cream can help.
Well, I don't really know of any herbal treatments for back acne, but what I have been using is Selson Blue.

Well, I personally found a cure when my dad used Selson Blue to treat a disease of the skin (caused by inflammation) called Tinea Versicolor. It cured him of this and then I reasoned that if it cured inflammation, then it might cure my arm acne. So I tried it for several weeks, and it worked! It cured my back and arm acne!!! This may sound a little hard to believe because Selson Blue is used on the scalp to treat Dandruff. But rest assured that Selson Blue contains an ingredient called Selenium Sulfide (1%) which gets rid of inflammation. (Dandruff is an inflamed skin problem.)

Just lightly rub some of the shampoo on your arms and back and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then wash it off.

I hope this works for you as it does for me!!!
Try lavender oil. Apply this oil on the back acne everyday for minimum 15 days or else apply fresh Aloe vera juice or the gel and wash after a few hours. When washing your back use a loofah, sponge or exfoliant to help remove any dead skin cells that may clog up pores. Use a gentle action and don鈥檛 be too harsh otherwise you will end up breaking the skin. You should probably change your shirt twice a day whether you exercise or not to avoid bacteria buildup that can further aggravate your acne.Check out http://usefulinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.
i know how you feel...i have tried every thing just like you said. i dont know wat you have tried. but if you havent try an Astringent. it smells really mad but it helps alot. for me it did at least. good luck
