At what age does acne ususally subside?

I'm already in college and I thought that it would calm down a little by now. But it hasn't and it's extremley frustrating. I know that the age can vary for everyone. However, I was just wondering what was the usual or normal age for acne to subside. And and what age did your acne finally stop?At what age does acne ususally subside?
I never had bad acne but I stopped getting acne when I was 18....But I think that early to mid 20's is normal. Ask your mom when hers stopped. Thats usually how you can tell!At what age does acne ususally subside?
I am 28, married, kids, the whole works...and I still have some acne. Part of it is stress and part of it is hormones. Find a good cleaner that works for your face (skin). I use Avon...something in an orange bottle.
My best friend used to have really bad acne like 6 years ago when we were 13. She's been on BC and I don't remember seeing any on her face. Are you sure you're on the stronger pill?? She told me that Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo doesn't give you as many hormones to clear up your acne.
Serious acne usually subsides after your last growth spurt around 17 or 18. Hormones affect acne like periods. Also stress affects and makes acne worse. Acne never ';stops'; you always have a zit or a blackhead throughout your life.
It varies from person to person and can continue well into adulthood for some people. I think if your acne is really becoming a problem, you should see your doctor. Antibiotics, such as Minocin or the birth control pill such as Diane 35 and Yasmin can help.

In extreme cases, you may be put on a course of Accutane. Topicals that can help include salycic aicd, benzoyl peroxide and Retin A Micro. Be sure to cleanse with a non alcohol cleanser and only use light moisturizers, so as not to clog the pores any further.

I developed acne in my teens and took various treatment and finally resorted to Accutane, which kept my skin clear for 5 years. At 26, I still get breakouts, but use topicals to control them.

Good luck : )
It deffenitly doesnt subside as a teen ager and my cousin is 22 and she still has acne. I think it just depends on your face type. You should talk to a dermatologists.
Never too old for a zit...there is no damn age!
acne can be affected by many things, including horomones, genes and stress. each person is individual. Some people will see their acne go away when they are older, some people will see more as they get older, and some will have none at all!

mine subsided quite a bit once i began taking the birth control pill at 18 (a great side effect if you ask me!)

If it is a serious problem for you, consider seeing a dermatologist.

good luck!
What birth control are you on? My new doc put me on Dianette cos she says it's the best for acne- my last doc put me on Microgynon. When i changed docs she said some pills can actually make your acne worse.
I've noticed (on other people) that acne seems to go away when wrinkles come about. If you have oily skin-like me-then I think that it can be considered a blessing and a curse cuz even though your skin isn't too great right now, you won't have to worry about wrinkles later. ppl will mistake you to be younger than you really are, which ull probly be ok with when ur 43 and someone thinks that you're 35!

Anyways, I'm sry, but don't know when acne usually goes away. I'd say that after you're out of college and things aren't as stressful, that might help it. =~)
mine is still going but i am veryy young (12) but you just have to keep caring for your skin and use the right products but not too manyyy
Depends on the indeviduals. For some it'll stop between 20-23. Seems like you've tried many methods. Isn't it about time to check it with your dermatologist.
You might not have the normal ';teen'; acne. It could be cystic acne or another condition called Rosacea. I had acne as a teenager myself, and thought it would never disappear. There is also ';post-adolescent stress acne'; that comes and goes, and that can continue your whole life. For the most part, my acne disappeared when I was about 19, and only occasionally re-appeared when I was under stress and then only a now-and-then zit would pop up. At 40, however, I developed Rosacea, although I have a very mild form that's under control. Your best best is to find a good dermatologist who will be able to discover the root cause of your skin problem and help you address it. In the short term, keep your face clean and your hands away from your face. Do NOT pick at your blemishes. Use only non-comedogenic products. Good luck!
it doesn't matter.
sonce you are in college, some ppl say that stress causes acne- Maybe you should just chill. It may go away later for some ppl.
I have used this highly informative information and it worked for me in getting rid of my pesky acne. And you don't need to buy expensive acne cream either! http://www.theknowguide.com/acnefree.htm鈥?/a>
20 still get them but not as bad as it was in the teenage years
I know it can be hard at times but drinking as much water as you can stand. tried and true. Can you honestly say that you drink 1.5 liters plus a day EVERYDAY.

It's been hard for me to maintain that much water but as soon as i slip up i get a breakout.
